Accounts may be temporarily suspended for violating the content policy. At the time of suspension, you will receive a private message informing you of the reason and duration of the suspension.
While suspended, you will be able to log into your account, but unable to participate on the site. You will see a red banner across the top of the page on reddit.com and in the official apps. A reminder will pop up any time you attempt to perform a forbidden action. Other users will not be able to see that your account is suspended.
While temporarily suspended, you can:
- Log in
- View private messages and modmail
- View posts and comments in public subreddits and private ones you are subscribed to
- Communicate with reddit admins via /r/reddit.com modmail
- Appeal your suspension via https://www.reddit.com/appeals
While temporarily suspended, you cannot:
- Submit new posts or comments
- Send private messages to other users (except admins through /r/reddit.com modmail)
- Vote on posts or comments
- Edit wiki pages
- Create new subreddits
- Perform any moderation actions
- Use the self-serve advertising system
My account was suspended in error
- Open a browser window and log into the suspended account.
- Visit https://www.reddit.com/appeals to request a review of the suspension.
